How long does it take to book an appointment with an Athletic or Physio Therapist?
We can usually get you into see one of the therapists within 1-3 days of your request.
How can I make an appointment with the Sports Medicine physician?
Often a Sports Medicine physician will be recommended by a physiotherapist, chiropractor, coach or friend. However, a physician referral is required to book an appointment with a Sports Medicine physician. The appointment will be covered by OHIP and it can usually be booked within 2-4 weeks of your request.
Do you work with patients who have motor vehicle or work-related injuries?
At this time we are focused on treating patients with sports and exercise-related injuries.
How can I be referred to your Post-Concussion Treatment Program?
Our Post-Concussion Treatment Program has been designed for patients suffering with sport or exercise-related concussions. After you have been diagnosed with a concussion and received an initial assessment from a physician for a sports or exercise-related head injury, you can be referred to our Post-Concussion Treatment Program. We must receive these referrals in writing, by fax.
How long does it take to get an assessment appointment for the Post-Concussion Treatment program?
We can usually book your initial assessment with the Sports Medicine physician within 2-4 weeks of receiving the referral from your doctor.
What do I bring to my appointment?
Before every appointment, we will email you detailed instructions about what to complete, what to bring and what to wear to your appointment. To ensure the quality of your care and recovery, we ask that you read the pre-appointment email carefully to make sure you are prepared for each appointment.
How is treatment at Concussion North covered?
Physician appointments for sports-related injuries are covered by OHIP.
In our Post-Concussion Treatment Program, the physician assessment and ongoing follow up is covered by OHIP. All appointments with the Athletic Therapist and Physiotherapist are covered by extended benefits or by the patient directly.
ImPACT post-injury assessments, notes for school or work or any injury related forms or paperwork are not covered by OHIP. The costs associated with these services will be billed directly to the patient and are due upon receipt.
