NEW Provincial Concussion Care Standards Now Available

The Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation (ONF) recently released a NEW set of standards for Post Concussion Care in Ontario.

Currently the health care system in Ontario does not have specific procedures and standards for post-concussion care. As a result, there is uncertainty regarding the needed pathway of care, the appropriate providers who should be delivering the care and how services should be organized.

The ONF's overarching vision in setting these standards in post-concussion care is to ensure people who suffer a concussion receive the right care, delivered at the right time, by the right provider, across the province.

Dr. Shannon Bauman, Medical Director, and Carolyn Glatt, Physiotherapist at Concussion North, were contributing members on the ONF Concussion Advisory Subcommittee.
